1 Corinthians 15:3-8:
“3 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve. 6 After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain to the present, but some have fallen asleep. 7 After that He was seen by James, then by all the apostles. 8 Then last of all He was seen by me also, as by one born out of due time.”
I want to keep this post simple. Meditate on what the Apostle Paul (and God) is telling the saints in Corinth and us about the Gospel. This is directly tied to my first post where I end by pointing out that we are to “rightly [divide] the word of truth”. The person, life, work, death, resurrection, and ascension of Christ Jesus can only be properly understood by doing so. Do as the Bereans did:
“they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so”
Search the Scriptures and rightly divide the word of truth because everything that we can know and need to know about the Gospel are found in them.
Again:
“Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures“
“He was buried, and… He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures“
